Cheese

What is it about night that makes me crave all the delicious food I recently devoured almost every day in Spain? It's all I can think about - I think it's the salty, sharp, pungent flavors that come to mind when I've already digested my dinner. Well aside from my odd pregnant-like cravings.....
.....I suppose I miss the lifestyle: starting to make dinner around 9 pm, finishing up around 10:30 - 11 pm, heading out and meeting friends at a bar around 11:30 - 12, and then the night ends in a haze at around 4, 5, 6 in the morning, stumbling out of a club, with the music still thumping itself into your eardrums, deafening your sense of reality for some period of time.
Ok, well, maybe the late night partying can take its toll on you, but let's face it - just the vibe of a city whose people love to go out and escape the quotidian routine is incredible, inspiring, and funky.
I miss those afternoons of wandering the streets, taking in the hum and buzz of the city. These aimless wanderings seem to lure in memorable surprises and adventures - like: a sudden downpour while you're walking through a park, dressed in sandals and a tank top, when you laugh your guts out, running to any form of shelter; or a tiny, non-descript cafe around the corner you've never noticed until this day that has the most amazing churros you've ever encountered in your life.

Anyway, hopefully these cloud nine memories and reflections aren't making you want to flop down to the toilet and hug that porcelain throne while you retch your insides out until you cry for Mommy...but how I do miss my beloved Barca!

Next on the agenda: my musings on Italians as lovers.....
